NAMA for energy conservation (energy efficiency and renewable energy)
in the building sector

The proposed NAMA for energy conservation (energy efficiency and renewable energy) in the building sector in Tunisia aims to reduce the demand for fossil fuel based energy in buildings, in particular that used for heating and cooling of buildings. It sits within the wider Tunisian national energy strategy and builds on existing national energy conservation programmes in the building sector.
The NAMA will comprise a programme of activities and measures to address key barriers (financial, technology, knowledge barriers) to the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the building sector. It also aims to achieve wider development benefits, including the creation of skilled jobs in the energy technology and building sector as well as reducing the country’s dependence on fossil fuels.
